Plant and Forklift Engineer

Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a skilled Plant & Forklift Engineer to join our friendly and dynamic team.

Role Overview

This is a new mobile role, based from our Waterlip workshop and covering multiple local sites. You will work on a variety of equipment, including:

• Forklifts (Counterbalance, Pivot Steer, Reach Truck)
• Tractors and agricultural equipment
• Plant machinery and ancillaries
• Hand pallet trucks, load ramps, and general site equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general servicing, repairs, and maintenance on forklifts and plant equipment.
• Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

Key Competencies:

• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Semi-skilled or qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3 in Forklift Engineering or Plant Maintenance (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Additional Details:

• Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00 (47.5 hours p/week).
• Overtime available at enhanced rates of pay.

Pay: From £16.50 per hour
