Engineer

We have an opportunity to join the Engineering team at West Devon in Hatherleigh. We are looking for a skilled Engineer to support the production and site.

Currently the shift is operating from Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00 based on a 40-hour working week. The Engineers are on a grading system so will be discussed at the point of initial screening.

20 days basic holiday entitlement + the 8 bank holidays

Dunbia use NEST as the pension provider with auto enrolment at the 3-month point.

Overtime is payable after 40 hours at 1.5 x basic rate, with Saturdays usually at 1.5 rate and Sundays & BH at double time.

There is a call out rota - call outs are paid at normal overtime rate with minimum payment of 3 hours x 1.5 OT rate, or 3 hours x 2 OT rate if called out on a Sunday. Call out is generally one week in 4/

We offer additional training to support Engineers in developing their skill set.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly
• Proven Electrical / mechanical knowledge
• Building maintenance.
• Stainless Steel fabrication TIG Welding an advantage
• Maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose
• Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
• Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate
• Completing daily maintenance check sheets and job card.

• Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.
• Will be committed to working within the Company Mission, Vision & Values.
• Food industry experience is advantageous.
• Comfortable working at height.
