Plate Welder (MMA)
- Join a skilled team in prefabrication, installation, and erection of piping systems, ensuring quality compliance with ISO 9606 standards.
- Candidates should possess relevant welding qualifications and a CCNSG Safety Passport, with strong attention to detail and competency.
- Work in a 10/4 rotation pattern with competitive PAYE rates and benefits including lodging and travel reimbursement, based in Bridgwater.
Mactech require experienced MMA Plate Welders to join a team working on the prefabrication, installation, and erection of piping systems on the mechanical scope at Hinkley Point C.
Suitable candidates must have:
Apprenticeship in Welding OR
Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication OR
ACE Card in Welding Pipe or Plate
CCNSG Safety Passport
Please note that candidates will be required to take part in a competency-based interview prior to being put forward for testing.
Suitable candidates will be required to test out to the following ISO 9606 standards:
Carbon Steel 12x125x200mm Plate
Fillet Weld
PF Vertical Upward Position
PD Horizontal Overhead Position
TESTING WILL BE HELD AT A FACILITY AT TIPTON IN THE WEST MIDLANDS AND COMMENCE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2026
Working Arrangements:
10/4 rotation
Days: 9 x 10-hour shifts (Tuesday to Wednesday) & 1 x 6-hour shift every second Thursday
Nights: 9 x 11-hour shifts (Tuesday to Wednesday) & 1 x 6-hour shift every second Thursday
PAYE Rates:
Basic: £29.34 (Days) / £35.94 (Nights)
OT1: £41.08
OT2: £52.82
Bonus Potential (up to): £2.94 p/hr
Additional Payments and Holidays
Lodge: £53.39 p/night / £373.73 p/week – if eligible
Travel: Return Fare & Travel Time each month – if eligible
Holidays: 190 hours per annum + Public/Bank
