Job Requirements/Description

Sheltered Housing Officer - Supporting Independent Lives

£24,730 per annum + benefits

Bath | Full Time |  Permanent | 37 hours per week

Your Support. Their Independence. Connected Communities.

At Curo, we believe everyone deserves to live independently in their own home for as long as possible. Our sheltered housing communities offer that perfect balance—independence with just the right amount of support when needed.

This rewarding role puts you at the heart of our residents' lives. You'll build meaningful relationships with your own portfolio of customers, helping them stay independent, safe, and connected to their community.

You'll be the friendly face they rely on, providing tailored support that makes a real difference every day—from helping with practical matters to creating opportunities that prevent loneliness and enhance wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

  • Building relationships with residents in your portfolio, understanding their individual needs and creating support plans that help them live independently
  • Helping residents with practical tasks like shopping, medical appointments, and social activities
  • Completing yearly reviews to assess financial status and maximise income, arranging aids/adaptations, and care assessments
  • Performing essential safety checks including fire alarm testing, telecare alarm testing, health and safety inspections, and water flushing
  • Creating opportunities for residents to connect through community activities and events
  • Working with other agencies to ensure coordinated support for our residents

What you'll get in return

Beyond a salary of £24,730 per annum and the chance to make a real difference every day, you'll get:

  • 26 days annual leave per year pro rata (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
  • Your birthday off as an extra holiday
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • Car user allowance of £900 per annum, plus mileage
  • Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing

More about you

You're a people person with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence. You're resilient and thrive in environments where every day brings something new.

While we'll provide full training on all technical aspects of the role, you'll need:

  • Experience working one-to-one with customers with varying needs
  • Skill in carrying out risk assessments and developing support plans
  • Good IT skills, comfortable with Microsoft Office and mobile working technology
  • Experience in a customer-focused role, whether in supported housing, social care, or a similar environment
  • A full driving license with business insurance and access to a vehicle that can transport customers

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check will be required for this role, which we'll arrange when you start.
