Job Requirements/Description

Kelly Farm Consulting is an independent agricultural consultancy working with farming businesses across the South West.

As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an Agricultural Consultant to join our team. The role will initially focus on Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), Capital Grants and wider grant and scheme work, while also supporting clients with farm business management and strategic decision making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in agricultural support schemes who is looking to develop into a broader consultancy role. We work closely with a wide range of farming businesses, providing practical, commercially focused advice that helps clients improve performance, secure investment and plan for the future.

You will work directly with farming clients across the South West, taking responsibility for scheme applications, business reviews and wider consultancy projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing Capital Grant applications and claims
  • Advising clients on scheme eligibility and funding opportunities
  • Conducting farm business reviews and benchmarking exercises
  • Preparing budgets, cashflows and business reports
  • Attending client meetings and on farm visits
  • Supporting wider consultancy projects and strategic business planning
  • Building long term client relationships

As part of a small and experienced team, you will have the opportunity to become involved in all aspects of consultancy work and develop your own areas of expertise over time.

About You

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience preparing and managing SFI applications and agreements
  • Proven experience preparing Capital Grant applications and claims
  • A strong understanding of UK agricultural policy and support schemes
  • A practical understanding of farming systems
  • Strong communication and client facing skills

We offer:

  • Direct client contact and responsibility from day one
  • A genuine pathway into wider agricultural consultancy
  • The opportunity to develop specialist areas of expertise and help shape future services
