Summary


  • The EHCP Coordinator is a pivotal role within a local authority, responsible for managing a caseload of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). This position ensures that statutory duties are fulfilled in accordance with SEND legislation and timelines. The coordinator serves as the primary contact for children, young people, families, schools, and partner agencies, facilitating assessments, reviews, and amendments to EHCPs. The goal is to ensure that children and young people receive the necessary educational provisions and support. This is a 4-month contract offering a rate of £270/day under an umbrella arrangement.


Responsibilities


  • Manage a caseload of Education, Health, and Care Plans from assessment through to annual review and amendment.
  • Act as the Local Authority's named contact for families, schools, and partner agencies.
  • Coordinate the statutory EHCP process, ensuring all legal timescales and requirements are met.
  • Liaise with education settings, health professionals, social care teams, and external agencies to gather advice and evidence.
  • Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality EHCPs that accurately reflect the needs of children and young people.
  • Ensure EHCPs contain clear, measurable, and child-centred outcomes and provision.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of EHCPs and coordinate annual reviews.


Requirements:


  • Essential Experience Required

    • Significant experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
    • Experience within education, children's services, social care, local authority, or related settings.
    • Strong understanding of EHCP processes and statutory responsibilities.
    • Knowledge of SEND legislation, Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice.
    • Experience managing complex caseloads and meeting statutory deadlines.
  • Essential Qualifications Required
    • Degree-level qualification in Teaching, Social Care, Childcare, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
    • Alternatively, equivalent experience supported by substantial SEND knowledge and expertise.
