As Curriculum Area Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across Sport, Adventure and Public Services, ensuring outstanding learner outcomes, an exceptional student experience and a culture of continuous improvement. What you'll need
- Proven experience in curriculum leadership, team management or departmental leadership within education
- A track record of driving high standards in teaching, learning and learner outcomes
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate, support and challenge staff to achieve their potential
- Experience of curriculum planning, quality assurance and performance monitoring
- The ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations effectively
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A relevant degree and teaching qualification
- A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and delivering excellence
What you'll be doing
- Leading and managing the Sport, Adventure and Public Services curriculum areas
- Developing and implementing curriculum strategies that meet learner, employer and community needs
- Managing, coaching and developing a team of teaching staff to achieve outstanding performance
- Driving excellence in teaching, learning, assessment and quality improvement
- Monitoring performance through lesson observations, learning walks and quality processes
- Leading on recruitment, retention, achievement and progression targets
- Managing resources, budgets and operational planning within your curriculum area
- Developing partnerships with employers, universities, sporting organisations and community stakeholders
- Ensuring an outstanding learner experience and positive student outcomes across all programmes
- Contributing to wider College strategic objectives as part of the management team
