The Opportunity

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Development Manager to join our Wholesale team, managing an existing portfolio of key accounts across Somerset responsible for revenue in excess of £2.5m

This is a highly visible role where you'll be responsible for growing sales, strengthening customer relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities across a diverse customer base. You'll work closely with some of our largest customers, acting as a trusted business partner and helping them maximise the value of their drinks offering while driving sustainable growth for St Austell Brewery.

What You'll Be Doing

Build Strong Customer Partnerships

• Manage and develop a portfolio of key customer accounts.
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with decision-makers.
• Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service and support.

Drive Sales Growth

• Identify opportunities to increase volume, revenue and profitability across your territory.
• Increase our distribution and account base through new business wins within the defined region.
• Promote our extensive portfolio of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
• Use data, insight and market knowledge to support commercial decision-making and customer growth.

Champion Our Brands

• Increase awareness, distribution and sales of St Austell Brewery brands.
• Deliver impactful promotions, point-of-sale activity and commercial initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with customers to maximise brand visibility and performance.

Deliver Commercial Excellence

• Conduct regular business reviews and maintain effective call plans and customer journeys.
• Ensure accurate account records and database management.
• Maintain a strong understanding of trading agreements, loans, equipment arrangements and commercial commitments within your area.

Influence and Inspire

• Present confidently to customers and stakeholders.
• Negotiate effectively to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Take ownership of delivering ambitious sales and profit targets.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from people who are commercially minded, customer-focused and passionate about building successful relationships. You'll ideally have:

• Experience in a field-based sales, account management or business development role.
• A background within FMCG, drinks, hospitality or a related sector.
• A proven track record of developing existing accounts and delivering sales growth.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify profitable business opportunities.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with great attention to detail.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
• A full UK driving licence.
