Job Requirements/Description
Do you enjoy creating great food and making a difference to people's day? As a Relief Chef, you'll prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for residents across our Later Living services, helping to ensure an excellent dining experience while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen management.

About the role

This is a relief position, meaning there are no guaranteed hours or set shifts, and there is no obligation to accept shifts that are offered. You'll provide cover for annual leave, sickness absence and busy periods across our services, making it an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for flexibility and a great work-life balance.

There are no split shifts or late evening shifts, allowing you to enjoy a more predictable working pattern when you choose to work.

A willingness and ability to travel is essential, as you'll support services across South Wales. You'll only ever work at one service at a time, but may be asked to cover different locations depending on operational need. When completing your application, please tell us where you are based and how far you would be willing to travel so we can match suitable shifts to you.

Skills and Experience Needed

You'll have previous catering experience within a commercial, care or hospitality setting and be passionate about delivering high-quality food and service. You'll be confident preparing and presenting nutritious meals, meeting residents' dietary and cultural needs, and maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.

You'll hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering and a Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 minimum), with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about continuous learning and development, willing to attend any training required by management to support their role and maintain professional standards. Please note that an DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.
