Are you a qualified or newly qualified Registered Nurse or Operating department practitioner looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive perioperative environment?We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated registered nurses and Operating department practitioners to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). Whether you are newly qualified or bring existing experience, we offer a welcoming environment where you can develop your clinical skills and make a real difference to patients recovering from surgery.You will work within a skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high quality, patient centred care. PACU provides a rewarding and fast paced environment where you will care for patients immediately following surgery ensuring safe recovery and supporting excellent patient outcomes. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills and be committed to delivering safe, compassionate and evidence based acre. You will be expected to work flexibly across a rota that includes evenings, nights, weekend and on call commitments where required.This advert is open to registered and newly qualified Registered nurses and Operating Department Practitioners. Essential

RGN/ODP

Diploma or equivalent knowledge and working towards or willing to work towards degree level

Desirable

Teaching / Mentorship Qualification/

Theatre qualification

Experience

Desirable

Previous Theatre Experience

Knowledge of relevant surgical procedures, and experience of working within the speciality

Experience of caring for the critically ill patient

Additional Criteria

Essential

Internal rotation, nights, on call shifts and weekend working.

Desirable

Ability to assess complex clinical situations and act appropriately.

Able to undertake the higher level clinical skills required for the specialist area.

Knowledge of relevant NHS legislation to include clinical governance/COSHH/Health and Safety/Infection Control/Clinical Waste/Manual Handling/PEAT/Confidentiality and the Data Protection Act/ Patient and Public Involvement agenda.

Up to date knowledge of current evidence based practice in nursing / theatre practice.
