Are you passionate about providing exceptional care and support to individuals with dementiat? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dementia Practitioner to join our team at Willows Edge Care Home, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.

About the Role

As the Dementia Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents with dementia
  • Ensuring the safety and security of residents, responding to their needs promptly
  • Working collaboratively with the night care team to provide effective care and support
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of residents' well-being and any significant changes
  • Communicating with daytime colleagues to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of care

Fixed working pattern:
Working every other Saturday and Sunday, or every Sunday.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A genuine passion for working with individuals with dementia and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life
  • Previous experience in a similar role, providing care and support during the night
  • Sound knowledge of dementia care principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration and mutual support
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations
