Warehouse Operative

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Pay Rate: $13.45/hr

The Warehouse Operative and Warehouse Operative with QA Inspection responsibilities roles are responsible for the safe receipt, booking in, picking and storage of goods. They are responsible for ensuring that all parts loaded/unloaded match the relevant paperwork.

Additionally, they are responsible for the accurate processing, picking and packing of orders in a timely manner, working to targets set. To support this activity, the associate will be competent in the correct use of handheld electronic devices to ensure parts are picked and put away correctly in the SAP system.

Consistently working to high standards of Health and Safety, housekeeping and adhering to company standards and procedures at all times is expected across all working activities with any damaged equipment and damaged or missing parts being reported immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor or Supply Chain Manager.

These roles also require the associate to participate in cycle counting activities.

Due to the nature of the role and business, this role requires the associate to be flexible and available to work overtime during the week and at the weekend if requested, sometimes at short notice.

Using a Bendi truck, order picker, counterbalance and or electric pallet truck would also be beneficial within this role.

Day to Day Warehouse Operational duties:

• Receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, and related reporting.
• Ensures the maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Maintains a cohesive team environment.
• Establishes effective lines of communications within and across departments to ensure highest possible productivity.
• Maintains constant communication with internal and stakeholders
• Participates in problem solving activities and inquiries
• Assists with international and hazardous material shipments, as required
• Ensures compliance to all company policies, procedures, standards, and goals.
• Recommends process and procedure changes, leading to increased efficiency and effectiveness of material control processes.
• Contributes to delivery performance and inventory accuracy through cycle count program.
• Manages a safe workplace by advocating incident prevention and preparedness (e.g., near-hits).

Continuous Improvement & Project Support:

• Actively participate in MSA Warehouse & Supply Chain projects / initiative.
• Aid in the continuous improvement cycle in relation to the best utilization of the warehouse space.
• Supports material cost reduction efforts in collaboration with Global Sourcing.
• Promote the MSA Operating System and its tools.
• Personal Development & Training.

Additional duties for Warehouse Operative, with Quality Inspection duties role:

• Incoming inspection of raw and final parts prior to acceptance and allocation to stores.
• Inspection of goods during in-house production processes & final assembly pass off Measurement & inspection techniques to verify conformance to established standards.
• To inspect as received components using dimensional, visual and mechanical testing techniques.
• Perform in-house product inspection (in process + final inspection) and raise non-conformance notes where applicable.
• To identify inspection & test status of all product.
• Communicate at all levels on issues regarding quality issues with the product.
• To liaise with all identified departments, as required.
• Highlight areas of non-conformance and complete the inspection details form, as applicable.

Experience Required:

• Working in a warehouse environment.
• Systems & Solutions Product knowledge.
• Good communication verbal and written skills.
• Reading of technical drawings.
• Awareness of Quality standards.
• Product checking for defects.
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and standards.
• Stock taking.

Preferred:

• Counter Balance and / or Bendi License
