Maintenance Team Leader

At Chemring Countermeasures, we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to take ownership of our shift maintenance team and play a key role in keeping our site operating safely, efficiently and reliably.

This is more than a supervisory role. You'll be leading a team of skilled engineers, driving maintenance performance, championing safety standards and supporting the continuous improvement of critical manufacturing assets.

What You'll Be Doing

As Maintenance Team Leader, you'll be responsible for:

? Leading, coaching and developing a team of Maintenance Engineers
? Managing performance, attendance, training and competency development
? Supervising planned, reactive and project maintenance activities
? Coordinating resources to support production priorities
? Working closely with Maintenance Planning and Reliability teams to improve asset performance
? Acting as an authorised Permit Issuer and overseeing contractor activities across site
? Championing health, safety and environmental standards
? Supporting maintenance shutdowns, improvement projects and investigations into equipment failures and incidents

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a hands-on leader who can inspire a team while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Essential

? Experience leading engineering or maintenance teams
? Time-served apprenticeship (ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
? At least 5 years' experience in a mechanical, electrical or automated manufacturing environment
? Experience executing maintenance plans and coordinating maintenance activities
? Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and machinery safety principles
? Understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
? Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
? Eligible to work in the UK

Desirable

• COMPEX certification (Gas & Dust)
• Multi-skilled engineering background
• Knowledge of ESD precautions
