AWP NHS Trust provides specialized, person-centred health and social care services to 1.6 million people across our region. We are looking for an exceptional Band 7 Team Manager to lead clincal team within the integrated Reach Drug & Alcohol Services in Dorset (you will be based in Weymouth or Gillingham).
We welcome applications from two distinct professional backgrounds for this role:
Registered Clinicians (NMC/HCPC) looking to progress their management career.
Experienced Non-Registered Leaders with a proven track record of managing complex health, social care, or substance misuse services.
You will combine outstanding leadership with efficient operational management. You will oversee specialised substance misuse pathways, including complex community detoxification protocols, Opiate Substitution Treatment (OST), harm reduction initiatives, and shared care agreements with primary health sectors.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership: Provide visible, compassionate leadership and expert consultation to nursing, medical, and multidisciplinary staff.
Clinical Governance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, clinical safety audits, and strict safeguarding procedures.
Supervision & Development: Deliver robust individual and group clinical supervision, performance appraisals, and continuous professional development (CPD) pathways for Band 6/7 nurses and practitioners.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day service operations, safely manage team workloads, work closely with the wider Reach management team, review of clinical incidents, and hit target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Multi-Agency Liaison: Maintain strong partnerships and smooth referral pathways with local GP practices, criminal justice stakeholders, and Dorset Council.
We are the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

1. To provide operational management and leadership for all staff and volunteers in the team and area of your responsibility.
2. Alongside your manager you will ensure the development of Integrated Business Plan and to ensure delivery of key targets in relation to service performance, integrated governance, workforce planning, partnership development and financial sustainability within your team
3. To work in close partnership with Service Users, Carers, Clinical Staff, Trust performance Management and Finance Staff, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Community Care, Independent and Not-for-Profit Organisations in the delivery of operational services.
4. The post holder will contribute to the development of the identity and structure of the area of your responsibility, ensuring clear accountability within their area of responsibility and establishing clear accountability for all key result areas and performance management arrangements to ensure effective service delivery.
