School Receptionist/Administrator

Hours: Mon-Thurs AMs and Fri All Day
Pay: £14.25 per hour

We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional School Administrator & Receptionist to join a welcoming and supportive primary school. This is a varied role that sits at the heart of the school, providing administrative support while acting as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous administrative experience who enjoys working in a busy education environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting pupils, parents, visitors and contractors, ensuring all safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed
- Managing the school reception area and handling enquiries professionally
- Answering and directing telephone calls and responding to emails
- Processing pupil, staff and school documentation accurately and confidentially
- Maintaining records and handling sensitive information in line with GDPR requirements
- Supporting attendance, admissions and general school administration processes
- Scheduling appointments and meetings for senior leaders and staff where required
- Assisting with school communications to families and external agencies
- Providing general administrative support across the school
- Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as required

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous administration and/or receptionist experience
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of SIMS, Arbor or other school management information systems
- Knowledge of CPOMS
- Understanding of school safeguarding procedures
