Brymore Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Horticulture Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the delivery of practical horticultural education within our unique learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for horticulture who enjoys working with young people and helping them develop practical skills, confidence, and a love of working outdoors.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support the horticulture provision across the academy, assisting students with practical activities and helping to maintain our horticultural facilities, including greenhouse environments. The role will involve working closely with teaching staff to provide engaging and safe learning experiences.
In addition to supporting horticultural learning, the post holder will undertake garden maintenance duties after the school day, working from 3.45 pm to 5.00 pm. These duties will include the upkeep and development of the academy gardens and horticultural areas, ensuring they remain safe, well-presented, and productive throughout the year.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a genuine interest in horticulture, gardening, or land-based education.
- Enjoys working with young people and supporting their learning.
- Has experience of, or willingness to undertake, practical gardening and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Has good practical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a positive, flexible, and proactive approach.
- Is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
