We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Long Lartin.

Long Lartin is a Category A prison located in the village of South Littleton (near Evesham) with capacity of around 600 males.

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.
The site currently offers shifts between 7am to 7pm (11.5) with weekends required

Salary
You'll recieve an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 per annum - depending on experience

What you'll be doing

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
  • Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
  • Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
  • Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
  • Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
  • Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
  • You will primarily be working within the Primary Care team, although may be required to carry out duties in the other departments including Mental Health & Substance Misuse

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
  • Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
  • Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
  • Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
  • Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc
  • Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
