About the Role:

This role is part of our HR, IT & Maintenance team, we’re a friendly bunch and we are now looking for someone to help shape our digital content and internal communications strategy. This is also a hands-on, roll-your-sleeves-up role that does blend operating practically and strategically, though you will have full support with the latter. The beauty of this role is that it will carry meaningful influence and will involve regular travel to our homes and sites, so a full driving license is essential.

Our Digital Content & Communications Creator will also play an important part in supporting our recruitment fairs for new employees and new foster carers, from identifying potential shows and events of interest to owning our current fairs management, speaking with prospective carers and supporting the follow-up of their interest and recruitment. Internally, you will seek out the great news stories happening every day, grow our social media following and develop our internal communications tone, cadence and frequency as we seek to connect our employees to our growth strategy and mission across all our channels.

You will also partner with our services to take a lead on the organisation of employee events, such as our annual family fun day and Christmas parties, as well as have a presence at their service meetings. Other duties associated with this role include;

• 
  Creating engaging, accessible and audience-focused content across a range of channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, publications, video content and promotional materials.
• 
  Delivering public relations activities and communications that strengthen Empower’s reputation and visibility.
• 
  Manage communications enquiries and respond to requests for information in a professional and timely manner.
• 
  Ensure all communications comply with the branding, publicity and acknowledgement requirements of Empower.
• 
  Support and deliver approved branding and communications.
• 
  Monitor the use of branding and provide advice where required.
• 
  Produce, schedule and manage engaging social media content that reflects the Empower brand, values and objectives.
• 
  Review, update and maintain website content and other digital platforms to ensure information is current, accessible and engaging in partnership with our IT team.
• 
  Monitor digital communications performance and audience engagement, providing reports and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
• 
  Support community engagement activities by promoting Empower at local jobs fairs and county shows.
• 
  Develop and maintain a communications calendar that engages our employees and followers.
• 
  Monitor and report communications activity.
• 
  Identify emerging communications opportunities, risks and issues, providing timely advice and escalating concerns where appropriate.

Requirements

You’ll be a natural relationship builder with a curious spirit and an appetite to get out there and wrap your arms around our business.

You’ll be able to develop stories into meaningful, engaging content with comprehensive experience of social media management tools such as Hootsuite.

You will understand how to write newsletters and press releases demonstrable from your portfolio and may also have experience of designing and interpreting engagement surveys and results.

Qualifications:

While a relevant qualification in public relations or media-related studies would be advantageous, we believe in lived experience over this given the practical nature of the role.
