At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be £24,795 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.

Subject to satisfactory performance, successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and continued organisational requirements, the intention is for the successful candidate to move into a permanent Compliance and Project Officer position at the end of the apprenticeship. This provides an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within the council.
About the Role
We are looking for a confident and conscientious individual to undertake the role of Apprentice Compliance and Project Officer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Compliance and Project Officer to join our Transport and Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting major transport and infrastructure programmes that help improve how people travel around our city.
As an Apprentice Compliance and Project Officer, you will develop skills in project management, compliance monitoring, performance reporting, data analysis, audit preparation and business administration, whilst studying towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification.
You’ll play a key role in helping ensure that programmes and projects are delivered in line with council standards, governance requirements, and funding conditions.
