The Role: Area Manager / Dispensing Optician

Responsible for 4 Optical Practices

The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations and performance of four optical practices, ensuring excellent patient care, high dispensing standards, strong team performance and achievement of business targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance and daily operations of all four practices.
• Support and manage Practice Managers and their teams.
• Maintain high standards of optical dispensing, patient care and customer service.
• Monitor sales, budgets, KPIs and profitability, implementing plans to improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with GOC standards, company policies and relevant regulations.
• Conduct regular practice visits, audits and staff performance reviews.
• Support recruitment, training, staff development and employee engagement.
• Manage stock levels, costs and operational efficiency.
• Handle escalated patient complaints and operational issues.
• Identify opportunities to grow the business and improve patient retention.

Candidate Requirements

• GOC-registered Dispensing Optician, or eligible to meet the registration requirements for the role.
• A clean, faultless GOC record.
• Available for a full-time or part-time commitment.
• Team-focused, self-motivated and proactive.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience in optical practice management or a multi-site leadership role would be advantageous.
