Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team. This role is part-time, at 15 hours per week. The actual salary for this role is £10,754
Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families and couples. It provides fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.
What you'll be doing
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to support the delivery of psychological assessments and interventions, working under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting psychological assessments, care planning and the delivery of one-to-one sessions and therapeutic groups.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings to support effective, joined-up care.
- Assisting with research, data collection, analysis and service evaluations to help improve psychological services.
- Supporting the training and development of colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to a positive team environment.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
At least an upper second-class (2:1) degree in Psychology with Honours - To be eligible for the British Psychological Society (BPS) Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) - Experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties - You will be expected to apply the learning from your undergraduate degree in psychology in your work, under the supervision of an experienced and HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist
Desirable
Further post-graduate training in a psychology-related area - Research and statistical experience - Evidence of commitment to becoming a registered psychologist
