MOT Tester

We are looking for an experienced MOT Tester to join our Volkswagen Service Centre team in Swindon, supporting customers across our Škoda, SEAT, CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands.

If you’re a qualified MOT Tester looking for a role where you can focus on what you do best, this could be a great opportunity to join an established and supportive workshop team.

This is a dedicated MOT testing position, so your primary focus will be carrying out MOT tests accurately, efficiently and to the required DVSA standards.

The Role

As our MOT Tester, you will play an important part in ensuring our customers’ vehicles meet the required safety and environmental standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with current DVSA standards and requirements
  • Accurately recording test results and completing all required documentation
  • Identifying and clearly reporting defects and advisory items
  • Ensuring testing equipment and the MOT testing area are maintained appropriately
  • Keeping your MOT knowledge and annual training up to date
  • Working efficiently to support the smooth running of the workshop
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance at all times
  • Working closely with the wider Aftersales team to provide a professional service to our customers

About You

You’ll be someone who takes pride in doing things properly. Accuracy, consistency and a strong understanding of MOT requirements are essential, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a busy workshop team.

You will need:

  • A current and valid MOT Testing qualification
  • Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
  • Previous experience carrying out MOT tests
  • A thorough understanding of current DVSA MOT testing standards and requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A reliable and professional approach to your work
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A full UK driving licence

Previous experience working with Volkswagen Group brands would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

What We Offer

£34,000 basic salary plus bonus, together with a great range of benefits including 23 days' holiday, rising to 27 days with service, plus bank holidays and birthday leave, pension contribution matching and life assurance, Health Cash Plan, enhanced family leave, staff discounts and employee Referral Bonuses and salary sacrifice nursery and Cycle to Work schemes.
