Job Requirements/Description
We’re excited to offer this opportunity in our Admin & Clerical workforce on the RACE Unit/ Older Persons Assessment Unit based at Poole Hospital.

We currently have one post available for 30 hours per week.
The successful candidate would be asked to work a 10 hour shifts , this would cover all 7 days a week.

The Older Persons Assessment Unit is customised to facilitate 24/7 admissions for our aging community. The unit is always bustling and no two days are the same. We are looking for dynamic and passionate person to join our developing team to lead and empower one another in providing quality care to our complex elderly community.
Our aim is to provide all our patients with a comprehensive geriatric assessment upon admission. This approach means our patients receive the right care at the right time. In achieving this we work very closely as a multidisciplinary team.

Based at: Poole Hospital (but will eventually move to Royal Bournemouth Hospital)

Main duties of the job

Receive all patients, families and visitors to the department with a helpful courteous and dignified manner at all times.

Deal with any enquiries from patients, relatives, visitors, staff, GP’s or Health Visitors from within and outside the hospital and co-ordinate to relevant source

To advise the Outpatient Department of the need for follow-up appointments, following a child's discharge from the Ward, including accurate patient data.

To receive telephone calls and take accurate messages for the ward staff.

Be responsible at all times that the Directorate Manager is informed of any problems, potential problems or complaints that may arise.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
