Job Requirements/Description

Assurance & Quality Supervisor

Do you have an eye for detail, a passion for improving how things work and the confidence to help others maintain high standards? Do you hold an Internal Auditor qualification, if so, could this job be for you?

We're looking for a Assurance & Quality Supervisor to help strengthen quality and continuous improvement across PCH. Working closely with our Assurance Manager and colleagues. You'll coordinate audits and quality reviews, monitor compliance and corrective actions, and support our Quality Management System. You'll also supervise our Quality Assurance Assistants, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching and support.

It's a varied role where you'll have the opportunity to build relationships across the organisation, spot opportunities for improvement and help us continue to deliver high-quality services to our customers

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinating and delivering internal audits and quality reviews, assessing the effectiveness and compliance of our processes and controls.
  • Monitoring audit recommendations and corrective actions, making sure agreed improvements are implemented and working effectively.
  • Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of our Quality Management System, including compliance with BS EN ISO 9001 and other recognised standards.
  • Coordinating document control to ensure policies, procedures and operational documents remain current, authorised and accessible.
  • Analysing audit findings, quality data, complaints, incidents and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Supporting root cause analysis and working with managers to develop practical improvement plans.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency and deliver value for money.
  • Monitoring compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards and legislative requirements, and helping to identify operational risks and control weaknesses.
  • Supervising our Quality Assurance Assistants, including allocating workloads, monitoring performance and providing coaching and guidance.
  • Building positive working relationships across PCH and providing colleagues with advice and guidance on audits, quality assurance and compliance.
  • Liaising with external auditors, assessors and accreditation bodies when required.
  • Providing occasional support with insurance administration, including claims, evidence gathering, records, renewals and contract documentation during periods of absence or increased demand.

What we're looking for:

This is a role where you'll need to be comfortable balancing technical assurance work, continuous improvement and people supervision. You'll be organised, confident working with colleagues at different levels and able to turn your findings into practical actions.

There are some key things you'll need to have to be successful in this role:

  • Experience of quality assurance, audit, compliance or a similar assurance environment.
  • Experience of reviewing processes, controls or working practices and identifying areas for improvement.
  • An understanding of quality management systems and compliance requirements.
  • The ability to analyse information, identify trends and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activities and follow actions through to completion.
  • The confidence and communication skills to build effective working relationships and constructively challenge where necessary.
  • Experience of supervising, supporting or developing colleagues.

Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001, regulatory assurance, accreditation or working within a regulated environment would also be valuable.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes a positive and collaborative approach to assurance. You'll understand that quality isn't simply about identifying where something has gone wrong. It's about working with people to understand why, finding practical solutions and helping to make things better.
