What is the role?

Make a difference every day as a Domestic Assistant at Hafod.

You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors and colleagues within our Extra Care Scheme. Your work will help create comfortable surroundings that support the wellbeing, dignity and independence of older people.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out general cleaning duties throughout the scheme, including communal areas and other designated spaces
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to create a safe and comfortable environment for residents and visitors
  • Safely use, handle and store cleaning products and equipment in accordance with COSHH guidelines
  • Report any equipment faults, health and safety concerns or maintenance issues promptly
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the service
  • Build positive relationships with residents and respond respectfully to their individual needs and preferences
  • Follow health and safety, hygiene, safeguarding and organisational procedures at all times

What you’ll bring

Previous cleaning experience within a commercial, healthcare, residential care or similar environment is desirable but not essential. We will provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Our Homes & Communities colleagues provide a wide range of services across 4 regional teams covering 7 local authority areas in South Wales, supporting people throughout their housing journey. We deliver neighbourhood management, repairs, tenancy sustainability, financial and digital inclusion, community engagement and estate services alongside specialist extra care housing.

Using a person-centred coaching approach, we work alongside people to build confidence, improve wellbeing and help them live well in their homes. Working collaboratively, we deliver a tenure neutral housing management and repairs service, enabling us to be more visible in our communities and respond quickly to meet the needs of our tenants and communities.
