An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Professional, working full time, to join the Operational Site Team and Command Centre managing the site at Derriford Hospital. The Command Centre is a dynamic and interesting workplace offering an excellent platform for collaborative working and development opportunities.

The Team is responsible for managing Patient Flow across University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, therefore applicants will be expected to work rotational shifts. The Clinical Site Manager provides Operational Leadership within Derriford Hospital and manages the flow of patients on a day to day basis. To be able to liaise with all specialties and directorates concerning tertiary referrals, targets and waiting list initiatives, as well as maintaining patient flow across the Trust and the Emergency Department.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘ Priority ’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

- Is responsible for the management and co-ordination of movements of patients within the Trust to any specialty in order to keep patient flow at its optimum and in order to meet government standards, targets and waiting times.
- Responsible for running the patient flow meetings on weekdays and ensuring attendance is kept with the key stakeholders. Maintaining an action log from the flow meetings and ensuring actions are completed.
- Responsible for producing accurate up to date bed states and maintain the accuracy for the visual hospital boards also known as Salus
- Responsible for site management 7 days a week.
- Responsible for managing the bed management team on a day to day basis, ensuring the site is managed appropriately throughout the day.
- Responsible for challenging wards/ clinical teams when patients extend beyond their predicted date of discharge.
- Responsible for escalating issues with capacity and demand with the on-call ED and on-call Manager, in line with the escalation process.
- Contributes to the management of risk throughout the hospital in order for the Trust to maintain financially viable and to meet its targets.
- Responsible for developing Site Management service with the Matron, which meets the needs of the Trust.
