At South Devon College, we believe every learner deserves the opportunity to thrive, succeed, and achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and proactive professional to join our Wellbeing, Participation and Development team in a pivotal role supporting Care Experienced Learners and Care Leavers. Working closely with curriculum teams, local authorities, Virtual Schools, carers, and external agencies, you will lead the coordination of personalised support, oversee Personal Education Plans (PEPs), and drive improvements in attendance, achievement, wellbeing, and progression outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference to learners' lives while contributing to a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and student success across the College.

We are looking for a proactive and learner-focused professional with excellent communication, organisational, and data management skills. You will hold (or be willing to work towards) a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification and a relevant teaching qualification, alongside GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent). Experience of supporting students, working with external agencies, managing sensitive information, and using Microsoft 365 and student data systems is essential. You will be a confident problem solver with a positive, resilient approach, able to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement while always promoting the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and young people. Flexibility to attend occasional events outside normal working hours is required.

Our staff are integral to maintaining our passion and high-performance levels, and we reward our staff for this. Our benefits are designed to encourage a healthy work-life balance, and include:

  • 25 days annual leave (pro-rata of fractional) including the option to purchase additional holiday days;
  • 1 additional day’s holiday for your birthday (does not have to be used on your birthday);
  • 1 additional day’s holiday for every 5 years served;
  • Christmas Closure of up to 2 weeks in addition to annual leave entitlement;
  • Access to a wealth of training, apprenticeships and funded higher education opportunities as well as dedicated training days;
  • Local Government Pension Scheme Employer pension contributions of 18%;
  • Subsidised fitness suite facility, onsite hair and beauty salon, access to a wide range of catering facilities, outdoor gym and free eyesight tests;
  • Major supermarket and high street employee discount schemes;
  • Life Assurance (if member of pension scheme);
  • On Site Nursery (Mama Bears);
  • Employee Assistance Programmes;
  • Access to Blue Light Card membership;
  • Discounted travel schemes.
