Line Chef

Join our kitchen team to showcase your creativity, grow your skills and help deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

This role reports to the Kitchen Manager.

What you'll do:

• Cook and present dishes to recipe standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Support the creation of daily specials to showcase your skills and excite our guests.
• Keep food prep areas stocked, clean, and ready throughout service.
• Follow food safety standards and help minimise waste.
• Work with your team and Kitchen Manager to deliver excellent guest experiences.

What we’re looking for

• Previous cooking experience (restaurant, hotel, pub or similar) or a willingness to learn by joining our Chef Academy and completing a funded Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.
• Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Basic Food Safety certification (or willingness to complete training).
• A passion for great food and creating memorable guest experiences.
• A positive attitude, commitment to teamwork and desire to learn.

A convenient Taunton hotel with free parking, meeting rooms and a Health Club

Holiday Inn® Taunton M5, Jct.25 hotel is just off the M5 motorway, only 10 minutes from the town centre.

You can catch a bus into town from outside the hotel or from the nearby Park and Ride. Taunton station, 2 miles away, has direct trains to Bristol, Exeter and London. Both Bristol Airport (BRS) and Exeter Airport (EXT) are around half an hour away by car. Trace local history at the Museum of Somerset, housed in 12th-century Taunton Castle. If you prefer the outdoors, Exmoor National Park and South Devon’s beaches are within easy reach.
