Job summary

Are you a qualified nurse with ED experience looking to join the MPH ED team?

Our Nurses are real life health care heroes, and we are seeking compassionate people with experience of working in a hospital environment to join our integrated trust.

This opportunity is for emergency care nurses all across Somerset to come and join the fantastic ED nursing team at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton

We value our RGNs highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly over a rota basis which does include nights and weekends. We have full time and part time hours available.

You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.

This advert is open to experienced registered nurses, with NHS ED experience heavily desired.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.

To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.

Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care

Associated training for emergency nursing, such as but not limited to: Immediate Life Support (Adult + Paeds), Trauma training, Triage training to the latest national standard, IV Administration, Cannulation and Venepuncture and ECG Interpretation.

Mentorship qualifications

Previous NHS Emergency Department work experience or equivalent experience in an acute/emergency care department.
