The Somerset Adult ADHD Service is seeking a Band 7 Non-Medical Prescriber to join our compassionate, forward-thinking, and values-driven team. We are a county-wide service dedicated to delivering high-quality ADHD assessments and treatment for adults in Somerset who have not yet received a diagnosis.

Nurses with RN qualification: in order to carry out ADHD assessments, it's essential to have broad experience in adult psychiatry. The ability to assess differential diagnoses is a critical part of the role. If you feel you can demonstrate you have transferable skills, we welcome your application.
Your duties will include:
Deliver ADHD assessments and provide pharmacological interventions, including prescribing controlled and off-label medications.
Triage referrals and perform comprehensive case note reviews.
Act as a clinical expert and independent prescriber within a multi-disciplinary team.
Hold a clinical caseload and maintain high standards of care and accurate clinical documentation.
Use your advanced knowledge to contribute to treatment plans, risk assessments, and patient reviews.
Communicate clearly and effectively with service users, families, carers, GPs, and colleagues.
Lead and participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
Provide clinical supervision, support and training to other professionals.
Promote mental health education and help develop non-pharmacological treatment pathways.

As a key member of the Somerset Adult ADHD Service, you will:
Nursing: RMN/RNMH/RNLD/RN qualification
Pharmacist: Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
Nursing/Pharmacist
Registration qualification in independent and supplementary prescribing recordable recorded with the NMC (V300)
Professional registration with relevant statutory body (NMC/HCPC)
Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, short courses
ADHD Training or equivalent
UKAAN Course
Managing an inpatient or outpatient caseload
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/ or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
Positive attitude to change.
Innovative and well organised.
Ability to utilise email, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software packages to support routine work activity
