Role: DEPUTY MANAGER – CHILDREN'S HOME

Location: Wellington, Somerset
Salary: £36,000 per annum + approximately 2 sleep-ins per week
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a children's residential home in Wellington.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the home.
• Lead shifts and provide management oversight in the Registered Manager's absence.
• Support audits, quality assurance and Ofsted compliance.
• Work with social workers, families, schools and other professionals.
• Support admissions, placement planning and reviews.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Significant residential childcare experience.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's home regulations.
• Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
• Willingness to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare if not already achieved.
• Full UK driving licence..
• Enhanced DBS and satisfactory references required.
