About the Team

Bath and North East Somerset council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced person to join our Brokerage Team to work on a specialist project around care sufficiency and care costs within the Childrens social care market.

About the Role

The role will be part of the wider Brokerage Team and report to the Brokerage Manager whilst also working closely with the Head of Sufficiency

This will be a great opportunity to take a key role in shaping the services for our young people to be able to access the most appropriate care settings to meet their assessed needs.

  • Add capacity to the brokerage team to enable a dedicated focus on maximising current market sufficiency and reducing the cost of our most expensive placements
  • Enable CareCubed to be used in greater depth especially at care planning stage (pre-placement) and review stage (during placement).Work with Head of Sufficiency and operational teams to develop a robust dynamic approach to assessment/care planning/use of CareCubed (pre-placement) and reviews during placement to accelerate opportunities for step down across several care pathways and maximise current market sufficiency and improve value for money.
  • Work with the Head of Sufficiency role, service leads and strategic commissioners to develop forward looking needs analysis across several pathways leading to and out from high cost placements to ensure right care is provided at each step of the individual’s journey.
  • Work with the Head of Sufficiency role and strategic commissioners to stimulate, develop and shape the local market and build strong relationships with providers to improve our ability to place effectively and improve value for money.
