Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated admin team in a front-of-house role, working closely with clinical colleagues to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care from the moment they arrive.

As the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy and fast-paced department. The role requires excellent organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of administrative and reception duties, including admitting, discharging and transferring patients, responding to telephone enquiries, creating appointments and arranging patient transport. As a key point of contact within the department, you will provide a professional and welcoming service to patients, relatives and colleagues at all times,

You will also be responsible for maintaining an organised and professional reception environment, ensuring the reception area remains tidy and welcoming. In addition, you will monitor, order and maintain adequate levels of office supplies and stationery to support the smooth running of the service.

Working in a busy and fast-paced environment, you will need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively. A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and exceptional customer service is essential, ensuring the needs of patients and service users remain the highest priority at all times.
