We're looking for a Reinstatement Operative to join our Bournemouth Water team based in Bournemouth.

Location: Francis Avenue, Bournemouth
Hours: 45 hours a week. Shifts covering Monday to Sunday as well as availability to join the on-call rota.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Reinstatement Operative, you'll play a vital role in our Infrastructure team, delivering high-quality reinstatement works following water mains repairs, new connections, and other essential utilities projects. You'll be working across Bournemouth, ensuring public highways and private land are restored to the highest standards whilst maintaining safety and quality compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Reinstatement Operative, you'll be working within the Bournemouth Water team, supporting them in restoring highways and land to a high standard following essential utilities work. Your day to day will include:

  • Conducting high-quality reinstatement works including tarmac, concrete, and modular paving
  • Ensuring all work meets HAUC and local authority specifications
  • Operating plant and machinery safely, such as rollers and compactors
  • Completing job documentation using tablet-based systems
  • Maintaining site safety and traffic management compliance

What are we looking for?

This role of Reinstatement Operative is great for you if:

  • You have previous experience in highway reinstatement or utilities work (desired but not essential)
  • You hold a Full driving licence
  • You're able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with others to deliver quality results
  • You hold or are willing to obtain CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene, or NRSWA certification (training can be provided)
