Junior Apprentice Tutor - Construction (FTC Feb 2027)

Cardiff and Vale College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Construction Tutor to join our Junior Apprenticeship team.

This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality construction education and training to learners aged 14 to 16, helping them develop the vocational skills, confidence and behaviours needed to progress into further education, apprenticeships and employment within the construction sector. You will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, support learner achievement and wellbeing, and work closely with schools, parents and colleagues to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.

What You'll Do

You will deliver practical and theory-based construction training, plan and assess learning activities, monitor learner progress and provide pastoral support as a Course Tutor. The role also involves promoting safe working practices, supporting learners to develop employability skills, maintaining learner records and contributing to curriculum development and quality processes. Working collaboratively with schools, parents/carers and the wider Junior Apprenticeship team will be an important aspect of the role.

About You

You will have a relevant construction qualification at Level 3 or above, or significant industry experience, together with GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent). You will have experience within the construction industry and a passion for supporting and developing young people.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who can motivate and engage learners, build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders and maintain high standards of health and safety within a practical learning environment. A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one is essential.

Additional Information

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis in line with the current funding arrangements for the programme. Ending in February 2027.
