Job Requirements/Description

We are looking to recruit an individual to an Enhanced Unit lead role based in the RLB Café in the heart of the University of Plymouth’s thriving campus.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join the company and take on the running of one of the biggest on campus. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit as well as line management responsibility of the catering assistants and chef within it. With experience of working in a catering or retail environment, you will drive sales in line with the business plan and lead the unit in a calm and positive way whilst providing exceptional customer service.

You will have experience of working in a customer service environment, and have routine administration and financial understanding. A customer-focused mind-set is essential and a drive to deliver on and exceed students, staff and visitor’s expectations. A flexible approach to hours and work is essential, as is adaptability and the ability, whilst maintaining high standards at all times.

This is an annualised hours contract, with the normal working pattern of 37 hours a week Monday-Friday during term-time. You will be expected to complete 1480 hours across a 12 month period.

Key Requirements:

You should be able to demonstrate they have:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing other staff members
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Ability to cope under pressure, in a calm and efficient manner
  • Previous sales experience in a similar environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
