About The Role

Join a community of educators and innovators at our stunning Penryn campus in Cornwall, one of the UK's most creative and inspiring regions. We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Associate Lecturer in BA(Hons) Television and Film Production to join our dynamic team within the School of Film and Television.
As an Associate Lecturer on the BA(Hons) Television and Film Production you will deliver module content and core undergraduate teaching primarily on 2nd and 3rd year delivery. Module content centres primarily on screenwriting for television drama series. It is essential to have experience as a screenwriter on broadcast TV drama series as well as experience supporting and developing new screenwriting talent through short films and TV series pilots.
It’s advantageous to have direct experience in professional television writers rooms and / or story conferences and to understand the requirements of teaching screenwriting at 2nd and / or 3rd year undergraduate level.
Hours and days worked are negotiable in advance, but in most cases Associate Lecturers commit to an agreed number of hours for a specific taught module for an entire Study Block.

About You

The successful candidate for this role will have a relevant educational and industry background, possess comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of multiple aspects of television screenwriting.

You will recognise the importance of well-developed organisational skills and be an excellent communicator on an individual and group level. You will be comfortable delivering content in person and through digital platforms and most of all you will demonstrate a genuine desire to help your students succeed and will always be willing to offer the support that the individual needs to help them achieve their full potential.

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Knowledge/experience of the subject area
  • Understanding of quality issues and requirements in HE
  • Excellent presentation skills
