We are looking for an organised and proactive Technician / Workshop Controller to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating workflow, managing technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining efficiency across all workshop activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate work efficiently to technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
- Ensure workshop jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
- Manage workshop productivity and maximise utilisation
- Liaise with service advisors, parts departments, and customers where required
- Monitor repair quality and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Support technicians with technical guidance and problem-solving
- Ensure accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation
- Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements - MOT tester qualification
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Good technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
- Experience using workshop management systems is desirable
- Full UK driving licence preferred
