Job description

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving the WRA?s core technology platforms. You will work across cloud services, end user computing, networks, identity, applications, and supporting services, ensuring operational stability, security, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands on technical role that requires strong problem solving skills, good communication, and the ability to collaborate across Digital, Data & Technology, Operations, Security, and external suppliers.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Support configuration, management and monitoring of infrastructure platforms.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, capacity and service availability.
  • Assist with environment builds, system integrations, troubleshooting and resolving issues across multiple technology areas.
  • Maintain device builds, baselines, profiles and configurations using Microsoft Intune.
  • Support networking, connectivity, and identity related operations.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.
  • Assist with the provision of technical advice to WRA staff and its partners that use WRA solutions and services.

End User & Platform Support

  • Provide operational support for user devices, COTS software, and WRA digital services.
  • Support hardware and software lifecycle management including deployment, maintenance, replacement and disposal activities.
  • Troubleshoot technical incidents, assisting with root cause analysis and problem management.

Service & Supplier Management

  • Take responsibility for supporting the Microsoft Dynamics environment, engaging with third-party supplier and working to assure quality, stability and performance of this service.
  • Ensure that systems remain secure, patched, resilient and compliant with organisational standards.
  • Collaborate on the WRA ICT service desk including 1st and 2nd line support for WRA users and co-ordination of support with 3rd party suppliers.

Operational Security & Compliance

  • Follow WRA policies for access control, asset management, configuration management, and secure operations.
  • Support audit activities and contribute to maintaining and improving security posture.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with developers, testers, operations teams and security teams to maintain consistent technical environments.
  • Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and infrastructure knowledge sharing.
